Traffic closures and bus detours

 

Saturday night, from 9 p.m. the Marco Mengoni concert at Circus Maximus. About 45,000 spectators are expected at the event.

Here are the planned traffic measures:

Parking bans, and initial closures will already be activated from the night between Wednesday and Thursday, on Via dei Cerchi, between Porta Capena and Via di San Teodoro.

On Friday, from 8 p.m. onwards, Via del Circo Massimo; Piazzale Ugo La Malfa; Via della Greca; Via dell'Ara Massima di Ercole; Via delle Terme Deciane; the Aventine riverfront (between Piazza dell'Emporio and Via di Santa Maria in Cosmedin); and Via di Santa Maria in Cosmedin , will be closed to traffic.

On Saturday, from 6 p.m. onwards, depending on the number of participants, Via di San Gregorio; Viale Aventino; Piazza Bocca della Verità; Via Petroselli; and Via del Teatro di Marcello could also be closed to traffic.

Traffic closures will be active from Friday,8 p.m. and until their necessity ends during the day on Saturday,. They will affect: via del Circo Massimo; piazzale Ugo La Malfa; via della Greca; via dell'Ara Massima di Ercole; via delle Terme Deciane; the Aventine riverfront (between piazza dell'Emporio and via di Santa Maria in Cosmedin); and via di Santa Maria in Cosmedin.

In addition, Via di San Gregorio; Viale Aventino; Piazza Bocca della Verità; Via Petroselli; and Via del Teatro di Marcello could also be closed to traffic on Saturday from 6 p.m. and according to the number of participants.

Bus detours

  • due to the closure of Via dei Cerchi, the bus line 628 will be diverted for first;
  • bus connections for bus lines:30, 44, 81, 83, 118, 160, 170, 715, 716 and 781 will change on Friday from 8 p.m.;
  • the night buses n716, nMC and nME will be diverted on Friday and Saturday nights;
  • the C3 will also be diverted on Saturday;
  • possible detour for 3NAV and 75 From 6 p.m. Saturday;
  • possible detour for bus lines: 85 and 87 on Sunday.

And the metro service

In addition, for security reasons and by Police headquarters request, the Circus Maximus stop on the Metro B line may be closed on Saturday from 9 p.m.. The Colosseum and Piramide stops may be used as an alternative.

It should be remembered that; on Saturdays, all the metro lines run until 1:30 a.m.

The night bus lines nMA (for metro A), nMB (for metro B), nMB1 (for metro B1) and nMC (for metro C) run on the same routes of the metro lines and can be used once the metro service is over. A map of the general night bus network can be found here.

  • bus line 86 (via Elias Canetti-via Pelagosa),
  • bus line 170 (Termini station-piazzale dell'Agricoltura),
  • bus line 246 (Cornelia metro A-Malagrotta),
  • bus line 301 (Grottarossa-Ponte Milvio-Lepanto/metro A),
  • bus line 314 (Casalone-largo Preneste), 404 (Rebibbia/metro B-San Giovanni in Argentella),
  • bus line 444 (via Francesco Paolo Bonifacio-Ponte Mammolo/metro B),
  • bus line 451 (Ponte Mammolo/metro B-Cinecittà/metro A),
  • bus line 664 (circular with terminus at largo Colli Albani metro A), 881 (via Avanzini-via Paola),
  • bus line 916 (via Andersen-piazza Venezia), and
  • bus line 980 (San Filippo Neri hospital-via Pane).
